Last night, after the kids came home and there was no homework, we decided to watch a family movie. The new "Karate Kid" with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. I watched the originals when I was growing up. I liked this new one, It had some of the same plot twists as the original, but a different spin on it. This made for a fresher, newer Karate Kid.
We sat down and watched this movie and my children got up afterwards and were wanting to try out some of the moves they saw on the movie. The movie was good. It touched on some real world issues that my children deal with, such as bullying and being different, both culturally and ethnically.
I enjoyed it from start to finish. A five star in my book for Family Nights definitely!
Do you watch movies with your kids?

Movie Night Sunday November 7th
Our five year goes to a school that offers a movie night every other Friday. We are a very busy family. With four kids and work, its hard to make it to the school. So my son, brilliant little guy that he is asked for a Family Movie Night at home. This Sunday we rented "How To Train Your Dragon".
I love TV and I like watching TV with my kids. When the advertisements came out for this movie, I told my kids as soon as it is out on DVD or OnDemand, we will watch it.
I think this movie was EXCELLENT! The movie was one of the best animated films I have seen in a long, long, time. The ups and downs throughout the movie made the story come to life. My five year old loved Toothless, the Dragon that young Hiccup befriended. My older children watched it with us and were surprised how much they enjoyed it as well.
I recommend this movie as good family night movie.
The kids will love it.
